Dr. Johnathan Woo
Certified Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Johnathan Woo is a Certified Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry. He obtained his Bachelor of Health Sciences degree from McMaster University and Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto. Before Dr. Woo began his specialty training, he completed a one year General Practice Residency in Pediatric Dentistry at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. He pursued his post-graduate studies in Vancouver at the University of British Columbia where he obtained his Master’s degree in Craniofacial Science, and Diploma in Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Woo’s pediatric dental practice provides primary dental care for infants, children, adolescents, and medically compromised patients. He prides himself on providing the highest quality dental care with his easy-going personality which helps his patients feel at ease during their visits.
Aside from work, Dr. Woo enjoys travelling and spending time with his wife and child.
Dr. Mahvareh Akhgar-Araghi
Certified Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Mahvareh Akhgar-Araghi is an Associate Dentist at Sunrise Kids Dental, Kingston Road Location, with practice limited to children. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 2000 and her Master of Science in Pediatric Dentistry (MSc) in 2003 in Iran.
Dr. Mahvareh is passionate about helping children feel safe, comfortable, and confident at the dentist. She finds it especially rewarding to see nervous young patients return with smiles, trust, and a positive attitude toward dental care. Her dedication to children with special needs led her to pursue further education in hospital dentistry, including a six-month certificate program in Sedation and Pain Management at the renowned Eastman Dental Hospital in London, UK, in 2006.
After relocating to Canada, she successfully completed the National Dental Equivalency Process and has been licensed since 2016 as a general dentist with practice limited to children. She has additional training in mild and moderate sedation, including nitrous oxide and oral sedation, and works closely with medical and dental anesthesiology teams to provide treatment under general anesthesia when needed.
Dr. Mahvareh is a member of the Ontario Dental Association, Canadian Dental Association, Iranian Dental Association, and Iranian Association of Pediatric Dentistry, and is in good standing with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. Outside the practice, she enjoys Pilates, reading, watching movies, cooking, and going for walks with her cockapoo, Polo. She also supports Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) and Empowering Moms & Children Organization (EMCO).
